The Opportunity We are seeking a seasoned Crisis Communications & Public Relations Associate Director to lead high-stakes crisis response strategies, safeguard organizational reputation, and drive proactive risk mitigation. This role demands a strategic thinker with deep expertise in crisis management, real-time public sentiment monitoring, and cross-functional leadership in fast-paced environments. Your Key Responsibilities - Develop and execute crisis communication frameworks, ensuring alignment with EY’s global standards and local regulatory requirements. - Monitor and analyze emerging public sentiment trends (digital/social media, news platforms) to provide actionable insights and preemptive recommendations. - Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of organizational messaging, while proactively addressing media inquiries and mitigating potential miscommunication risks. - Lead cross-functional crisis response teams during critical incidents, coordinating with legal, compliance, and senior leadership to mitigate reputational risks. - Conduct post-crisis reviews to refine protocols, document lessons learned and strengthen organizational resilience. - Collaborate with EY’s global communications network to share best practices and align strategies with evolving industry challenges. Skills and Attributes for Success - Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field. - 10+ years of progressive experience in crisis communications, reputational risk management, or public relations, preferably within professional services, multinational corporations, or strategic consulting firms. - Excellent writing and project management skills. - A team player with highly effective interpersonal and communication skills. - Advanced proficiency in public sentiment monitoring tools and data-driven decision-making. - Fluency in both Chinese and English
